GameBall Thumb

I am a power user for work, graphics, editing, and gaming. I've used Logi, magic mouse, magic trackpad, tablets, but hadn't used a trackball in many years. So, I started searching, and GameBall stood out for many reasons. I figured I'd get the GameBall Thumb to hold me over until the Pro became available. (I was too cheap to go the the original, but that changed... I just ordered the original lol - yep.)

I didn't expect the adjustment to be so seamless, but it was. It took about an hour to get comfortable, and two to become proficient enough to use the GameBall exclusively. Setup is so easy I kept trying to complicate it out of habit. Buttons are accessible, positioning very well thought out, and it is so easy to use. I accidentally discovered the tilt function (someday I'll learn to read instructions) and that has made a huge difference as well.

I've been using the GameBall Thumb exclusively on my home comp, but at work I'm still switching between my Logi, trackpad, and mouse, partly because I don't want to share the GameBall with my work stuff. (It's my preciouuuuuussss.) I'm going to try the GameBall Thumb at work today; with many hundreds of movements from macro to micro per hour, I have no doubt the GameBall will reduce the number of often-futile hand and thumb massages I need to do.

So, summary on the GameBall Thumb: I'd purchase again without hesitation. I have a messed up thumb and didn't think I'd be able to use this for a full day, but I can. The design allows for flexibility in positioning, unlike a mouse, trackpad, or tablet, and that flexibility is invaluable.

Welp, the experience has been so positive that I've now ordered the original GameBall (which is what I wanted originally but I was too cheap... that changed), and am looking forward to the smooth (tickless) scrolling and lower form factor. I'm accustomed to multi-touch surfaces and am really excited to get both my right and left hands on that ambidextrous puppy.

I'm even more impressed with the accessibility and communication of the company itself. It has always been the case in my experience that, when someone creates a business out of passion for what they do, the quality of the product and the integrity of the creator are always what drives excellence on every level. This is absolutely the case with GameBall.

Many thanks, GameBall Team! I've happily converted from Logitech's MX Ergo to your "GameBall Thumb".
I simply wanted a wired mouse and the GameBall Thumb does not only satisfy my main requirement, but it is overall comfortable, funky with its range of LED colours around the trackball, and all the different DPI settings.
The LED colours can also be switched off which is a great feature.
The large range of DPI settings provides a comfortable speed for anybody.
The mouse is always responsive; I have not experienced any lag thus far.
Cleaning the mouse, particularly the trackball and its socket, are a breeze. The ball pops out easily and exposes the switches for simple cleaning.
Another extremely useful feature is the precision button.

Basic trackball functionality is the best I've ever used. High sampling rate, high accuracy, low jitter. Every other trackball I've ever used, even though they get other elements better, would be 2 stars in comparison. The insanely low [and jittery when scaling is up] tracking of Logitechs is just unbearable in comparison.
More buttons [ring & pinky, and a couple around the thumb trackball] and side-to-side on the wheel would be very useful for a lot of tasks.
Adjusting settings is clunky, ways to configure/script settings from the PC would be an enormous improvement, particularly if open so it can be done cross-platform.
Accidentally hitting the speed switch near the ball and switching speed is incredibly annoying, having to cycle through settings to reconfigure it while playing is painful.
LED feedback is always green while in use, would be much better to have connection/charge LED separate from speed indicator.
Only useful setting I've found for the LED ring is off. Again, an API would be useful.

Mixed feelings about the shape of the palm rest & bumps under the palm, which hit the wrong place for my hand and are a bit uncomfortable, but they also let me know where my hand is on it, which is useful.

This Trackball mouse works better then any I have used before like ones from microsoft or logitech they have issues with their buttons going bad the switch part also their trackball is not as accurate or fast as the gameball the only weird thing is Linux mint just released a new kernal & when it installed the gameball mouse was to sensitive I had to mouse settings down in the mouse settings to its lowest level not gameballs issue but linux kernal update
