Not as customizable as I expected

It's good overall, but I bought it with the idea that I would be able to fully re-map all the buttons. This assumption was my fault but still disappointing when I learned that you can only swap the two main buttons on the right and/or the two main buttons on the left.
You cannot re-map the middle click, and what killed this for me as a gaming mouse replacement is that to re-map either the left or right main button, you hold them down for a very short time. I accidentally re-map the two buttons on the right twice during my first game play using the GameBall and I had to switch back to my mouse.
I still use the GameBall for work, but for these reasons, this will not fully replace my mouse as a gaming device.

Hello Francisco,
We are testing a new firmware that turns off the button swapping. Once you get it set, you turn off the button swapping (you can turn it on later if needed). It you would like to try the beta let me know.

Thanks
Eric

Very nice trackball!

I am very pleased with my purchase. Taking it out of the box, it looks and feels like a very decent quality and a solid product.

I'm used to a thumb trackball, so it does take a bit of time and training to get the hang of it.
That being said, since I hooked up the gameball track ball to my computer, I also kept my normal mouse connected but the mouse just lies there on the desk, because I haven't felt the need to switch back :)
I really love the touch scroll pad which makes scrolling and zooming in and out very easy.

Only thing missing is a wireless connection instead of a cable, but all in all I'm very happy with the gameball track ball, all I need is a bit more practice ;)

Keep up the good work!

That precision button though…

Really like the gameball, but would really like to be able to reprogram or at least turn off the precision button

A solid modern take on a classic design

I’ve enjoyed using the GameBall for the last month or so. Mostly in a work setting.

I think the unique firmware / features of this mouse sets it apart from other trackballs I’ve used in the past. The horizontal & vertical scrolling touchpads(?) combined with continuous scrolling modes are pretty nifty.

I don’t use this trackball for gaming, just work, so I don’t take advantage of all the buttons. But the build quality feels great so far, for this price point I expect it to hold up for a few years, so this is an early review for what I would properly need.

Still getting used so the side button positions however, because you squeeze the mouse to activate them, this is a bit new for me, so I thought it was a bit awkward and uncomfortable at first, but I think I’ve gotten accustomed to it, not sure if I’ll end up preferring it.

Overall, I’m happy with this mouse and will consider buying another one for home use at some point if it continues to work well for me.

Best finger trackball on the market

This has got to be one of the single-most well-thought out devices I've ever owned. Clearly a work of love, the world needs more quality products without compromise like this. If the Gameball Pro is similarly built I'll be getting one of those as well, otherwise will be getting a second one of these as a future replacement or for my son when he's old enough.
