Good but one major flaw

I love this mouse and it's super unique. I love that you can program everything right on the mouse without needing software for it. The build quality is good and it feels good to use.
Unfortunately there is one massive flaw with it, which is the lack of a physical scroll wheel. I see what they were going for with the touch sensitive pads, but the fact it, it's unreliable when playing games. There no feedback obviously, so I often times fail to scroll or over scroll when I try to use it. This is a problem in games that use the scroll wheel to do things like selecting weapons. Without a physical wheel, you're bound to make mistakes with it

Not very comfortable to use

The ambidextrous form factor makes in a bit uncomfortable to use, and the touch pads for scrolling are an interesting idea, but trying to avoid them while resting your hands on the trackball makes it even more uncomfortable. It’s too easy to scroll accidentally. It’s too easy to change the touchpad settings accidentally, which came as quick a shock the first time. I didn’t know the continuous mode even existed until I accidentally enabled it, and I didn’t know what was going on, just that I couldn’t scroll effectively anymore. Documentation is hard to find.
The “back” button is difficult to press.
All that said, the ball feels great, moves smoothly.

Thank you for giving us a try. And, for taking the time to give feedback.

I think this would be the goal for the trackball.

Personally, I think this would be the goal for the trackball.
- The exposed area of the ball is justified.I can fine-tune it with two fingers and take large finger strokes.
- The touch sensor for scrolling is still useful.I personally like having horizontal scrolling.
- No special drivers or software are required, the hardware is complete, the PC recognizes it as a standard other-button mouse, and all settings can be made in the mouse hardware, so there is no need to worry about stopping software updates in the future.
- The buttons are a bit stiff, and right-clicking takes some getting used to.I preferred the MarbleMouse here.
- It takes some getting used to, but sometimes the scrolling moves with the finger touching it.Might adjust the area of the touch sensor with tape or something in the future.

Thank you for the review and feedback.

Good trackball for both productivity and gaming

I have been using it for playing mainly FPS and RTS games as well as using it for work with processing audio and 3d modeling. I got used to it during a week despite it being my first finger trackball. The ball is very smooth and I don't notice any static friction which would impede precision in meaningful way, despite it using static bearings. Additional horizontal scroll is useful addition.

Gaming-wise I am able to play old school arena shooters and complete stalker 2 on gameball, it is perfectly suitable for any genre IMO, especially if one is willing to take time to adapt. It is good with or without acceleration depending on your preferences. I use acceleration, specifically tuned to provide my usual sensitivity at fast movement, and more precision during slow ball movement. This way I do not overshoot and able to be precise despite having small aiming 'surface.'
It is also excellent device for portable gaming with laptop (or docked handhelds), since trackballs negate requirement for space unlike mice.

One small thing, out of the box there was issue with 'back' button (mouse 4, top-left) due to which the button would become stuck after press. To resolve it I decided to disassemble the device, but really all it was is over-tightened bolt at the front of the device, super easy fix. After that the device is pretty perfect. Really hope that Pro version will have the same or better level of smoothness.

I would recommend it even as a first ever trackball, especially for people who value ergonomics, but do not wish to compromise gaming.

Good feedback and sorry about the button issue. Glad you resolved it.

Thanks
Eric
